Our heritage walks and experiences in Wakefield explore local history and the Forgotten Women of Wakefield. The walks are a volunteer-led project uncovering women’s stories and bringing them to life.
Funds raised by these events have supported blue plaques to women in the Wakefield area, and we are currently saving for the Florence Beaumont sculpture, due to be unveiled in 2028, the centenary of when all women in the UK got the vote.
2026 History Walks and Experiences in Wakefield
Summer Murder & Mayhem (7 pm) – Wednesday, 29 July
This wonderful group of passionate women is working to share with you the stories, heritage and history of Wakefield. But in the warm, light evenings of Summer. Perfect if you want to experience this event but don’t want to venture out during the cold, dark Autumn nights.
Come along to this poular event and hear exciting tales of murder, mystery and all manner of interesting tales of Wakefield and its people.
